Women's Needs and Gender Equality in Egypt's COVID-19 Response
Based on lessons learned from past outbreaks, this brief outlines the gender issues related to the COVID-19 pandemic and response in Egypt. It argues that women and girls’ immediate and long-term needs must be addressed and integrated into Egypt’s response, in order to both ensure women’s human rights and access to services, as well as to enable women to contribute to shaping the response. Questions are also posed for COVID-19 decision-makers.
