Joint Press Release: The Launch of a Series of Awareness-raising Videos on Ending Violence against Women and Girls

Cairo, 2 June 2022 - The National Council for Women, in partnership with the UN Women Egypt, and in collaboration with Safe Egypt Foundation, will release this June a series of awareness-raising videos on social media focusing on ending violence against women and girls.

The videos convey a set of messages on how to end all forms of violence against women and girls, including cyber violence, sexual harassment, and gender stereotypes in the public and private spheres. The videos also highlight the role of fathers and mothers in ending all forms of violence and supporting their daughters whenever they are subjected to violence.

This initiative was carried out within the framework of the “Safe Cities and Safe Public Spaces for Women and Girls” programme implemented by the National Council for Women and UN Women Egypt, with the generous support of the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Egypt.
