Yet, in his attempt to protect his daughter, Awad could have prevented Menna from reaching her goals and continuing her education. This video, the second in a series of films on barriers to girls’ education, is one of the activities under a project titled “Promoting Equitable Education for Girls” (Educated, Empowered, Enlightened), implemented by CARE International in Egypt in partnership with UN Women and the National Council for Women and funded by Embassy of Japan in Egypt, aiming at reducing barriers to girls’ education.
