Women's Political Participation and the SDGs in Egypt: Where Do We Stand?

The factsheet offers insights on women’s political empowerment in Egypt, one of UN Women’s main thematic areas of work in Egypt, and put them in relation to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and targets. Providing a snapshot on the situation of women and girls in relation to political participation and decision making, the factsheet looks at the available data to populate the relevant SDG indicators, and presents information on the progress made so far towards achieving pertinent SDG targets. It also features examples of UN Women’s work to support Egypt in fostering a more gender balanced participation and in meeting the SDGs targets.
