Social Protection Systems, access to public services and sustainable infrastructure for gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls

This brief focuses on the priority theme of the 63rd Commission on the Status of Women (CSW): social protection systems, access to public services and sustainable infrastructure and their relevance for gender equality and women’s and girls’ empowerment in Egypt. Recognising that Egypt has taken some significant steps to address the challenges faced by women and girls to access gender-sensitive social protection systems and gender responsive public services and sustainable infrastructure, the brief is also looking into gaps and opportunities for future efforts. UN Women Egypt works to support national initiatives to improve women’s and girls’ access to social protection systems, public services and sustainable infrastructure in Egypt.
